My future job

As a student of biochemistry it is very common to be asked: "What is biochemistry? What do you do working as a biochemist? What is your field of work?". If I had a penny for every time I heard those questions I would be a millionaire by now. And my answer to these questions is that I don't know yet, but if I had to imagine my dream job, I think it would be something like this: Me working in a lab investigating something that catches my eye or finding a cure for some disease, or something like that.

It is important to emphasize that I would not like to stay in Chile, I want to travel to other countries to work with many people who have my same interests and learn new and innovative things.

As far as the salary is concerned, I know that with this career I will not become a millionaire, but I think that the objective of studying this career is more than that, it is about the experience that you acquire and how you can contribute with it.

About the major I would like to take, I am not very clear yet, but I am very interested in genetics, because it has many areas of research and I think it is fascinating. I would also like to take some area related to endocrinology, especially in the area of the pancreas.
Although I am still not very sure of the path I will follow, I hope to be able to fulfill all my goals.
